In bed with the enemy
- Exhibition period: 19. September – 15. July
The “German girls” were harshly punished after the war, but had they broken any law? The exhibition looks at the nuances in the story of the German girls, who they were, what they did during the war, and what happened to them afterwards? How did the government view them, and by what right were they punished? The exhibition also shows several lighter moments, women who fell deeply in love and defied everything to live with their chosen.
The exhibition consists of among other things a collection of unique photographs from the war and post-war, a pair of scissors used for cutting the German girls’ hair, films, and audio clips from the book “German girls” by Helle Aarnes.
